Job Summary:
The successful candidate will join the Bucharest Legal Services Center (LSC) where, under the supervision of a Team Manager and the LSC Manager, will be responsible to provide legal assistance and advice in support of operations in SLB Europe & Africa markets. The Customer Contracts Attorney is responsible for facilitating successful business relationships with our customers. This role focuses on protecting the company’s interests while enabling business growth by ensuring that all customer agreements for products and/or services are clearly defined, compliant, and commercially sound.

Key Responsibilities:
* Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts with customers for the provision of products and/or services, ensuring alignment with SLB policies and risk thresholds.
* Analyse and respond to exceptions in tender documents, bid packages, and requests for quotations, identifying areas of legal or commercial concern and proposing practical solutions that align with SLB's objectives.
* Collaborate with SLB's commercial, sales, procurement, and operational teams to align contract terms with both business objectives and operational capabilities.
* Advise on contractual rights and obligations and provide legal guidance across the contract lifecycle, from initial proposal through negotiation, execution, and renewal, ensuring SLB's interests are protected.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including export/import controls, data privacy, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption requirements, in line with SLB's commitment to integrity and ethical practices.
* Maintain awareness of changes in relevant legal landscapes and proactively update SLB's contract templates and processes to address evolving risks.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of training to SLB's commercial teams on contract best practices, negotiation strategies, and key legal risk areas.
* 1 to 3 years of experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts, preferably in a corporate or in-house environment dealing with complex customer agreements in the technology, energy, or industrial sectors.
* Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and relevant regulatory frameworks, with the ability to apply this expertise to SLB's operations.
* Excellent command of English (written and spoken); proficiency in French is a plus.
* Cultural sensitivity, ability to compromise, and ability to work within a team that reflects SLB's diverse and inclusive culture.
* Good negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset that aligns with SLB's innovative approach.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage a diverse workload with competing priorities, reflecting SLB's dynamic and global operations.
* Strong business acumen and the ability to translate legal risk into practical recommendations for SLB's non-legal stakeholders.
* Other positive traits include a desire for an internationally mobile career, willingness to live overseas for extended periods, and the ability to learn fast and work efficiently. A law degree with eligibility to practice law in applicable jurisdiction(s) is required.
