Role: Power Systems Engineer
Priority Location: LatAm, South Africa, Philippines (Global search)
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am- 5:00pm US Pacific Time
Target Start Date: September 2026

About the Company:
A startup founded by Stanford graduate students to accelerate the interconnection of new generation and large loads to the US grid. We are building a platform that shows developers how different interconnection queue scenarios affect their projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and run shadow interconnection studies in US ISOs and utilities, with an initial focus on PJM and WECC.
- Replicate utility load flow, contingency, and short circuit studies from posted models and reports.
- Test how results change under alternative queue assumptions.
- Perform transmission planning modeling, including power flow modeling, using software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, ASPEN OneLiner, and/or TARA.
- Evaluate the interconnection impacts of new generation projects on the grid.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience supporting interconnection studies for utilities, developers, or renewable energy projects
- Hands-on experience with PSS/E and PowerWorld required
- Familiarity with TARA and PSLF strongly preferred
- Experience performing load flow / thermal overload, voltage stability, and short circuit studies
- Knowledge of PJM and/or NV Energy interconnection standards and study requirements preferred
- Strong understanding of grid modeling, transmission planning, and utility interconnection workflows
- Able to serve as the technical domain lead for power systems analysis
- Comfortable collaborating with software engineers on automation and workflow improvement
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment
