We are a global SaaS company building an AI-powered automation platform that helps millions of businesses streamline workflows, integrate systems, and scale operations intelligently.

Our mission is simple: make automation and AI accessible to everyone.

We are building the foundational infrastructure that powers intelligent agents, conversational systems, and AI-driven workflows across our platform. This includes orchestration, execution runtimes, evaluation systems, and shared AI capabilities that enable product teams to ship reliable and scalable AI features.

Our team is fully remote, highly collaborative, and deeply focused on building durable systems that power real-world customer impact at scale.

About the Role

~1 min read

We are hiring a Staff Applied AI Engineer to join our AI Platform / AI Capabilities team.

This team builds the shared AI execution layer that powers all AI-driven experiences across the platform, including agents, chat-based experiences, automation workflows, and future AI orchestration systems.

This is one of the most foundational engineering roles in the organization.

You will help design and evolve the core AI runtime, unify fragmented systems into a scalable platform, and ensure AI systems are reliable, safe, cost-efficient, and easy for other teams to build on.

This is a high-impact, deeply technical role for engineers who want to work on platform-scale AI systems that directly power customer-facing products.

This is an opportunity to shape the AI foundation of a large-scale automation ecosystem.

You will be building the underlying systems that enable all AI products—agents, chat interfaces, AI workflows, and orchestration layers—to operate consistently and reliably.

Your work will directly influence:

  • How AI is executed across the platform
  • How reliable and safe AI systems are in production
  • How efficiently product teams can build AI features
  • How millions of users interact with AI-powered automation

This is high-leverage engineering work at the intersection of platform systems, LLMs, and production AI infrastructure.

You are a senior/principal-level engineer with deep experience building and shipping complex, production-grade systems.

You bring strong technical depth in applied AI and platform engineering, and you are equally comfortable designing systems as you are building them.

You actively use AI in your day-to-day engineering work and have built workflows or systems that meaningfully improve speed, quality, or decision-making.

You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, making pragmatic tradeoffs, and guiding teams through complex architectural decisions.

  • 10+ years of engineering experience (or equivalent impact in complex systems)
  • Strong background in distributed systems or cloud-scale platform engineering
  • Hands-on experience with large language models in production environments
  • Experience building or working with agent-based or LLM-powered systems
  • Strong understanding of system design, APIs, and orchestration layers
  • Experience working in high-scale, production environments

  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience working with LLMs in production
  • Understanding of transformer architectures and attention mechanisms
  • Experience building LLM-based applications (agents, copilots, workflows, etc.)

  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks for LLM performance (quality, safety, reliability)
  • Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
  • Strong understanding of embedding systems, vector databases, indexing, and retrieval strategies

  • Strong builder mindset (you ship, not just design)
  • Ability to partner with product teams to translate needs into scalable systems
  • Experience making pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, cost, latency, and quality
  • Ability to work effectively across ambiguous, evolving problem spaces

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Define and evolve the architecture for a unified AI execution platform
  • Build orchestration systems powering agents, chat systems, and AI workflows
  • Design shared runtime components, APIs, and data models
  • Consolidate multiple AI systems into a single scalable platform

  • Build and improve LLM orchestration, execution, and tooling layers
  • Develop shared capabilities such as memory, tool use, and safety layers
  • Ensure systems are scalable, performant, and cost-efficient

  • Design and implement evaluation frameworks for AI systems
  • Improve reliability, consistency, and safety of LLM outputs
  • Build systems to measure model performance and production behavior

  • Partner with product and engineering teams across AI initiatives
  • Support migrations of product teams onto unified AI infrastructure
  • Translate product requirements into platform-level capabilities

  • Provide architectural guidance across AI platform initiatives
  • Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across teams
  • Establish best practices for applied AI engineering across the organization

  • This is a fully remote role open globally
  • Requires overlap with North America time zones for collaboration
  • Expected collaboration during Eastern Time (ET) hours at least 3 days per week
  • Flexible working hours outside of collaboration windows

  • A unified, scalable AI platform powering all major AI products
  • High reliability and performance across AI-driven systems
  • Faster product development through shared AI infrastructure
  • Strong adoption of platform APIs across engineering teams
  • Reduced fragmentation of AI systems and improved developer experience
  • Clear improvements in cost, latency, and quality of AI outputs
