About the Role
~1 min readTechno Consult is seeking a Structural Inspector to support a major infrastructure improvement program in the Baltimore region. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile transportation project that will help modernize and strengthen critical public infrastructure for generations to come.
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience inspecting structural construction activities in complex, active construction environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural elements, construction methods, quality assurance procedures, and agency compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform daily field inspections of structural construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
- →Monitor contractor operations involving concrete, steel, foundations, retaining structures, rehabilitation work, and other structural elements.
- →Document construction progress, quantities, deficiencies, and field observations through detailed daily reports.
- →Review materials, workmanship, testing procedures, and quality control activities.
- →Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and agency representatives to address field issues and maintain project compliance.
- →Verify adherence to approved safety practices and environmental requirements.
- →Attend construction meetings and provide inspection updates as required.
- →Maintain accurate project records, photographs, and supporting documentation.
Requirements
~2 min read- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing construction inspection on structural, transportation, bridge, tunnel, rail, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on projects for public agencies such as transportation authorities, state DOTs, transit agencies, or other government clients is required.
- Strong knowledge of structural construction methods, materials, and inspection practices.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
- Experience preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Baltimore area.

The expected salary range for this role in the Mid-Atlantic Region is $30 - $38 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
