ABOUT THE JOB


A Product Design Manager is highly skilled in product and joinery design, with strong communication, delegation and an in-depth working knowledge of the furniture industry and manufacturing processes. You should look for potential opportunities for in-house design development, expanded supply chain and ensure the production of accurate work. You are enthusiastic about joining the TFP journey and making the role your own.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce high-quality digital and technical product drawings as well as checking and signing off manufacturer drawings for production
  • Engage with supply chain to produce technical drawings on TFPs behalf
  • Identify and prevent fabrication/design issues at development phase
  • Produce rendered visualisations for apartments and amenity spaces
  • Create and deliver presentations adhering to company design standards
  • Assist and advise the consultancy team on product selection
  • Collaborate on tenders/RFPs and create design content
  • Attend key project meetings and drive design element of the project
  • Confidently and independently run a client meeting in their offices or on site
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients throughout the project
  • Visit, assess and monitor factory performance and product reviews
  • Stay accountable for own training needs and identify areas of further training
  • Provide technical support for other design roles in the department
  • Assist in finishes meetings and mock-ups
  • Be part of the pitch team for new work
  • Attend industry trade shows and design events


ABOUT YOU

  • You have a minimum of  3 years experience of large scale furniture projects
  • You have knowledge of joinery fabrication and sector requirements
  • You have knowledge of furniture and joinery manufacturing processes
  • You have an awareness of product and design trends
  • You will embrace the TFP Code (TFP’s values)
  • You are motivated to make environmentally conscious decisions in everything you do
  • You are able to come up with improvements to our processes and show drive to complete what you start

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Rhino 3D (AutoCad & Vectorworks to help support Interior if needed)
  • Vray
  • Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excel and PowerPoint
  • Free-hand sketching (advantage but not a must)
  • Solidworks
