Accounting & Finance Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting & Finance Specialist to join the Finance department of our company, DP World, operating in the logistics and transportation industry , supporting and executing day-to-day accounting and finance processes.

• →Record and control daily financial transactions accurately in the general ledger (including routine journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and allocations).  
• →Support month-end closing activities in line with strict corporate deadlines.  
• →Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, customer accounts, supplier/vendor balances, and intercompany accounts.  
• →Process, verify, and control vendor invoices (carriers, shipping lines, trucking companies, etc.).
• →Verify invoices against shipment files, rate agreements, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy.  
• →Investigate and resolve customer, vendor, or intercompany account discrepancies in a timely manner.  
• →Support gross profit accuracy at the file level by identifying missing costs or incorrect postings.  
• →Prepare payment proposals in line with company policy and support the optimization of payment cycles (DPO awareness).  
• →Coordinate and partner with commercial and operations teams for billing, costing, and file-level profitability support. 
• →Flag discrepancies, non-routine transactions, or deviations from standard procedures to the line manager promptly for approval.  
• →Act as an individual contributor within the finance function, successfully representing the company in front of customers and external stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in accounting and finance.  
• Experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry is a significant plus.  
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. 
•  Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.  
• Fluent in both written and spoken Turkish and English.  
• Strong attention to detail; you stay focused and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.  
• Problem-solving mindset; you enjoy getting to the root cause of challenges and finding innovative solutions.  

• Strong collaborator and team player; you enjoy working across dynamic and multi-cultural teams, but can also self-manage independently.
