Job purpose:
The Technical Sales Support Officer – Marine Electronics & Bridge Equipment is responsible for managing customer requests and order fulfilment for marine electronics, bridge equipment, spare parts, and related technical products.
The role covers the full process from receiving RFQs and obtaining supplier pricing to preparing quotations, coordinating freight, issuing documentation, supporting procurement, and ensuring smooth delivery to customers.
This is not a generic administrative sales support role. The position requires previous experience in the maritime industry, ideally with exposure to marine electronics, bridge equipment, navigation and communication systems, spare parts, technical procurement, or vessel service support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and handle customer RFQs for marine electronics, bridge equipment, spare parts, and related technical products.
- Review customer requests and clarify technical, commercial, or delivery requirements where needed.
- Obtain supplier pricing, availability, lead times, and product information.
- Prepare accurate quotations, proformas, invoices, packing lists, and related documentation.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Coordinate freight quotations and align shipment options with customer requirements.
- Work closely with Logistics and Inventory teams to coordinate dispatch and delivery.
- Monitor stock availability for frequently requested marine electronics and spare parts.
- Propose minimum stock levels based on demand, lead times, and operational needs.
- Raise purchase requests in coordination with the relevant internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems.
- Collaborate with Sales, Technical, Service Coordination, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Support a high standard of customer experience through timely communication, accuracy, and ownership.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the maritime industry is essential.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Marine electronics
- Bridge equipment
- Navigation and communication equipment
- Satcom equipment
- Vessel spare parts
- Technical sales support
- Maritime procurement
- Ship supply or service coordination
- Marine technical documentation
- Experience handling RFQs, supplier quotations, purchase requests, order fulfilment, or logistics coordination.
- Ability to understand and work with technical product descriptions, part numbers, equipment models, certificates, and supplier documentation.
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, inventory, or procurement systems will be considered an advantage.
- Degree in Shipping, Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field will be considered an advantage.
