TransPerfect | ZHCN>EN Game Localization linguist | On-site Beijing

Working Hours: 40 hours/week, Mon‑Fri (8h/day, APAC core business hours)

Work Location: Beijing, China

Project Duration: 3 months, high possibility of extension

Contract Type: Freelance ICA.

Project Timeline: Start as early as possible, running through November.  

🔍【Who We Are Looking For】

❗ Native‑level English proficiency, fluent in Mandarin Chinese

❗ Minimum 2+ years hands‑on ZH‑CN>EN game localization experience

✅ Solid understanding of Chinese & English culture, capable of accurate cultural adaptation for game content

✅ Familiar with localization tools and content management systems

✅ Exceptional attention to detail and consistent high‑quality deliverables

✅ Great communication & teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration

✅ Passionate about gaming and well‑versed in mobile gaming industry trends

✅ Plus: Educational background in Translation, Linguistics or related fields

📋【 Key Responsibilities】
▪ Translate in‑game texts, UI and marketing materials from ZH‑CN to EN with accuracy and cultural sensitivity
▪ Revise translated content to ensure high‑quality standards and style consistency
▪ Conduct linguistic LQA to identify and fix grammatical, typographical and wording errors
▪ Collaborate with dev teams to preserve original tone, adapt content for cultural differences and target‑player expectations
▪ Attend creative meetings, provide linguistic input for narrative development to avoid potential cultural misunderstandings
▪ Coordinate with LPM team on project timelines, deliverables and linguistic resources

Your Gaming Translation and Localization experience (gaming genres, partial client lists, estimated word count).

📌 A Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or equivalent with significant translation training)

📌 2+ years of translation experience + a college degree

📌 5+ years of translation experience (no degree required)

📌 A translation certification issued by an appropriate government body
