- Tier 0: UNDP/UNCDF/UNV IP staff holding permanent (PA) and fixed-term (FTA) appointments, whose posts will be abolished, or contracts will be terminated or not renewed during 2026.
- Tier 1: Other UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff holding permanent (PA) and fixed-term (FTA) appointments
- Tier 2: UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff holding temporary appointments (TA), personnel on regular PSA contracts, and Expert and Specialist UN Volunteers
- Tier 3 or no tier indicated: All other contract types from UNDP/UNCDF/UNV and other agencies, and other external candidates

UNDP is the knowledge frontier organization for sustainable development within the UN Development System and serves as the integrator for collective action to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its policy workspanning headquarters, regional, and country office levelsforms a continuous spectrum, connecting deep local knowledge with cutting-edge global perspectives and advocacy. In this context, UNDP invests in the Global Policy Network (GPN), which brings together field-based and global technical expertise across a wide range of domains to deliver the signature solutions and organizational capabilities outlined in the Strategic Plan.
Within the GPN, the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) leads the development of policy and guidance to advance UNDP’s Strategic Plan. BPPS provides technical advice to Country Offices, advocates for UNDP’s corporate positions, represents the organization in multi-stakeholder fora, and engages in inter-agency coordination across thematic areas
The Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub is part of this architecture. It brings together UNDP’s expertise in digital transformation, data, AI, and systems innovation to support countries in harnessing new technologies as enablers of sustainable and inclusive development. The Hub serves as an integrated platform, offering advisory support, technical assistance, and capacity development to governments and partners in over 170 countries. It co-creates digital transformation journeys, strengthens institutional capabilities, and mobilizes partnerships to build inclusive digital ecosystems. By leveraging UNDP’s global presence, development intelligence, and portfolio approach, the Hub equips countries to anticipate risks, adapt to uncertainty, and use digital technologies responsibly for people and planet.
The BPPS/ Digital, AI and Innovation Hub operate at the intersection of digital transformation and sustainable development initiatives within UNDP. The hub is tasked with leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to address pressing global challenges. The Project & Innovation Support Analyst will facilitate the implementation of high-impact projects aimed at enhancing digital capacities and the integration of AI in governance and development practices. The services provided by this role are crucial to underpinning the strategic goals associated with digital innovation dissemination across UNDP.
Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Project & Innovation Analyst provides high-quality project management support to ensure successful project implementation and performance, including coordination, monitoring, evaluation of project activities and stakeholder engagement. The role requires both analytical and coordination skills to ensure synergy across project components and visibility of outcomes.
UNDP adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNDP personnel are expected to work across issues, units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.
- Support the planning and implementation of DAI Hub initiatives by providing analytical and coordination inputs that enhance delivery and overall impact.
- Contribute to the development of project and management approaches, incorporating efficiency, resource optimization, and alignment with Hub priorities and cross-cutting initiatives.
- Support the coordination and monitoring of project implementation in line with work plans, timelines, and expected results.
- Assist in facilitating project implementation requirements, ensuring timely coordination of resources, services, and enabling conditions necessary for effective delivery.
- Support the maintenance of project documentation, work plans, and tracking tools to ensure structured implementation, oversight, and accountability.
- Support project closure processes, including the consolidation of deliverables, documentation of results, and coordination of final project requirements in line with UNDP Guidelines.
- Analyze project and financial performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance delivery and resource utilization.
- Support forward-looking analysis and scenario planning to inform prioritization, resource allocation, and decision making.
- Design and develop data-driven dashboards and analytical tools to enable real-time performance tracking and visibility across Hub initiatives.
- Translate data into structured insights to support management in aligning resources with delivery and innovation priorities.
- Support project reviews and performance assessments by combining data analysis with strategic, economic, and efficiency-oriented perspectives.
- Support coordination and communication with internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and collaboration.
- Contribute to the organization of workshops, events, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, supporting both content development and coordination.
- Support the documentation of project activities, decisions, and outputs, ensuring accessibility and effective knowledge management.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing efforts and contribute to strengthening internal collaboration and learning.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation,
This incumbent will report directly to Operations Specialist in Strategic Resources & Project Management team.
- Core Competencies
Requirements
~1 min read- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Management, Business Administration, International Management, Innovation, Economics or a related field is required OR
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Working knowledge of another official UN language is advantageous.
