About UpHill

At UpHill, we’re on a mission to revolutionize healthcare. By developing best-practice clinical pathways and care orchestration software, we help healthcare providers and life sciences companies across Europe streamline their processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve care coordination. The result? Better outcomes for patients, increased capacity for health systems, and high-quality healthcare delivered more cost-effectively.

We’re not just another healthtech company. We’ve built the most compliance-ready care orchestration solution in Europe, and we’re proud of our culture of ownership, collaboration, and excellence. If you’re motivated by meaningful impact, continuous learning, and working with passionate colleagues, you might be an Uphiller.

Your Role:

The People Operations Manager focuses on laying a scalable foundation for the People function—critical for a company in a growth phase. It emphasizes building processes that reinforce UpHill’s mission and values: Own the Trail, Perfect Each Step, Conquer the Peak and Reach New Heights.

Overview

The People Operations Manager will be UpHill’s first dedicated People leader, responsible for transforming current people practices into scalable, compliant systems that foster a culture of high impact, accountability, and excellence.

This role is both strategic (designing systems and frameworks) and hands-on operational (executing day-to-day People tasks).

Your Impact

  • Organizational Design & Culture:
    • Partner with leadership to translate the company's values into concrete employee behaviors and policies.
    • Design and implement a structured performance management process (e.g., quarterly/bi-annual reviews) aligned with the CEO's demand for clear context, status, and excellence.
    • Develop career progression paths and compensation structures for all roles.
  • Compliance & Administration (The Foundation):
    • Own and manage all HR operations: payroll, benefits administration, HRIS (HR Information System) management, and employee data accuracy.
    • Ensure UpHill is fully compliant with all employment laws and regulations in all operating regions.
    • Draft and update the employee handbook, policies, and employment contracts.
  • Talent Acquisition:
    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for all open positions, focusing on finding "intelligent and skilled people" who thrive with high autonomy.
    • Create and implement a structured, informative, and objective candidate interview and assessment process.
  • Employee Experience & Development:
    • Design and manage a structured onboarding process that enables high autonomy from day one.
    • Manage employee relations, providing guidance to managers and employees on sensitive issues.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Entrepreneurial & Builder Mindset: Proven experience in building and optimizing HR/People processes from scratch in a rapid-growth environment (e.g., 50–150 employees).
  • Assertive & Objective Communicator: Ability to deliver clear, candid, and structured feedback and advice to employees and the CEO, valuing facts and data over ambiguity.
  • High Accountability & Autonomy: Doesn't need micromanagement; is expected to follow through, raise red flags with proposed solutions, and handle complex situations with minimal oversight.
  • Data-Driven: Proficiency in using HR metrics (e.g., retention, time-to-hire, eNPS) to inform strategic decision-making and ensure excellence.

What You’ll Get

  • Be part of a mission-driven team shaping the future of healthcare
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible work options
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Top-tier equipment – new PC plus budget for peripherals
  • A no-BS culture built on trust, impact, and collaboration
