Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. We are seeking a leader to join us as a Manager, Electrical Designer. The Manager, Electrical Designer will lead the electrical design team in support of the Venture Global LNG projects, with responsibility for design execution, quality, staff coordination, and delivery of electrical design packages. This role will also be responsible for workload planning, standards enforcement, and team development while partnering closely with the electrical engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities

- →Act as the primary design interface for electrical discipline on projects and proposals, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements, project schedules, and company standards.
- →Oversee the quality, consistency and completeness of electrical drafting, design, and back drafting deliverables.
- →Coordinate the preparation and review of electrical design deliverable such as equipment layouts, conduit and cable tray routing, grounding layouts, lighting plans, installation details, single line support drawings, and related design packages consistent with LNG and industrial facility requirements.
- →Partner with electrical engineering leads to translate design criteria, specifications, and calculations into accurate and constructive design documents.
- →Manage design resource planning, progress tracking and schedule performance to support cost, quality and milestone objectives.
- →Promote safe design practices and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and internal procedures.
- →Participate in recruitment, onboarding and capability development for electrical design team to build a strong and scalable organization.
- →Possess the willingness and ability to directly participate in design and checking activities as necessary for successful project execution and delivery of Electrical Department deliverables.
Requirements
~2 min read- Associates degree, or technical diploma (or equivalent) from accredited university or equivalent practical experience in drafting, design technology or a related discipline
- Minimum of 12 or more years of experience in electrical design for industrial, oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical or EPC projects, including prior experience serving in a lead designer capacity
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience leading or coordinating teams of electrical designers on complex capital projects
- Strong knowledge in:
- Engineering Workshare;
- 3D Modelling packages such as AutoPlant / PDMS / PDS;
- AutoCAD;
- Microstation
- SmartPlant 3D;
- SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL);
- Strong knowledge with applicable industry codes, standards, and design practices used in large industrial or LNG facilities
- Specialization in the following: detailed drawings for lighting; small power and earthing systems; HV/MV/LV single line diagrams; wiring and control schematic diagram; AC/DC distribution panels, process area electrical equipment layouts, substation and switchyard layouts, cable tray, above grade and underground cable layouts, ductbank sizing and layouts, preparation of installation details, grounding plans, lightning layouts.
- Cable schedules, cable pulling calculations, cable tray sizing calculations, cable selection & sizing calculations.
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
- Able to commute to Downton Houston office Monday – Friday
- Experience supporting modular plant or mid-scale LNG facility design
- Experience working closely with engineering managers to forecast hours, prioritize deliverables, and improve design team performance
- Prior experience with contractor oversight, model reviews, and interdisciplinary design coordination on EPC projects.
