Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is excited to announce we are looking for a Full time X-Ray/Radiology technician to join our busy emergency and specialty practice. The right candidate will have some experience as a veterinary assistant and will manage all the radiographs that are scheduled for both emergent and specialty cases, and will have the opportunity to be trained on running our CT.

About GSVS: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded veterinary specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology. We have also been treating felines with hyperthyroid disease with radioactive iodine since 2001! We are also proud to have technicians here at GSVS with their VTS in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

Veterinary Technicians at GSVS can expect to do the following as an X-Ray veterinary technician:

  • Oversee patients that require radiographs in both emergency and specialty
  • Safely prepare and position patients for radiographs
  • Attend to patient’s needs during imaging
  • Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and be a strong patient advocate during the patient's hospitalization
  • Maintaining all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
  • At least 1 year experience as a veterinary technician
  • Comfortable taking direction from doctors and technicians
  • Updated knowledge of radiation protection and safety knowledge
  • Prioritize patient’s depending on severity and time of admit
  • Comprehensive understanding of the different radiograph techniques
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
  • Positive outlook and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
  • 4-day schedule including one weekend day, 8AM – 7PM
