About Walker Consultants
Walker is a 100% employee-owned professional services firm that serves public- and private-sector clients by providing industry-leading mobility and parking planning-related services, forensic, restoration, and building envelope engineering, as well as parking design. We help provide access to and maintain the built environment.
From small towns to large urban metros and regional agencies, we help our clients build communities that are places people want to live, work, and have fun. For every project, we develop creative strategies that prioritize people and are grounded in data, aligning with overall goals for transportation, economic development, climate, and land use. We are focused on the future, and our plans and policies are shaped by technology, data, and infrastructure that maximize today’s investments for what’s next.
As a Consultant with the Carolinas Planning, Operations, and Technology practice, you will be an integral part of the small but mighty Charlotte team, while supporting our national group of experts and collaborating with planners, engineers, and urban designers across the country to serve our clients. You’ll have an opportunity to directly test ideas, shape policy, and see your plans implemented. At Walker, we go beyond planning—we are implementers at the forefront of real change.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working collaboratively with a growth mindset.
- Actively maintain existing client relationships and assist in new client business development activities.

- Managing parking and mobility projects for public sector and private sector clients, such as supply and demand analysis, operational analyses, master plans, implementation and action plans, and more.
- Effectively communicating and connecting with a broad range of clients and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
- Lending skill and expertise as needed on projects, with a focus on mobility planning, parking, and curbside management, operations, and technology, data collection, and analysis.
- Leading and/or supporting community engagement, awareness, and collaboration efforts in line with our national community engagement policies and practices.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports, memos, presentations, and other documents in a way that represents our work well and is digestible to a wide range of audiences, from CEOs and City Councils to student groups and immigrant communities.
