This position is responsible for establishing and leading the Group’s capability in innovation experimentation. The role plays a critical part in shaping how technology explores, tests, and scales new technologies, ensuring structured experimentation is embedded as a core capability to inform strategic and investment decisions across the Group.

Lead and oversee the development and execution of AI and emerging technology experimentation across technology, setting direction and ensuring alignment to strategic priorities.

Establish and mature technology's experimentation capability, including frameworks, governance, and operating models to enable consistent and scalable execution.

Build and embed organisation-wide capability, enabling business and technology teams to independently design, run, and learn from experiments.

Guide the balance between exploration and delivery, ensuring robust evidence is generated to inform strategic, investment, and scaling decisions.

Provide clear, synthesised insights and recommendations to senior executives, shaping decision-making and influencing the Group’s technology and innovation agenda.
This role calls for a leader with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities and a proven ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across complex organisations. You will be comfortable operating at scale, bringing clarity and direction in environments that are fast‑moving, highly regulated and often ambiguous. You will bring extensive experience working in strategy, innovation, engineering or emerging technology environments, ideally within a large enterprise. A deep understanding of AI and emerging technologies is essential, alongside the ability to translate these capabilities into tangible business and customer value.
