Bingham Healthcare is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Patient Transportation Technician to join our team! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, working as part of a team, and making a meaningful difference in a patient’s experience.

As a Patient Transportation Technician, you’ll play an important role in keeping our hospital moving. You’ll safely transport patients throughout the hospital and assist with transfers and discharges while providing a friendly face, a helping hand, and a reassuring presence along the way.

The Patient Transportation Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients throughout the hospital, including assisting patients from the hospital to their vehicle upon discharge. The Patient Transportation Technician works closely with nursing, radiology, and other hospital departments to ensure patients are transported safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients of all ages, families, visitors, and hospital staff.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to interacting with patients.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in an organized and timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to assist technologists, radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff as needed.
  • Ability to safely move and transport patients and equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Safely transport patients between hospital departments and areas, including transportation to vehicles upon discharge.
  • Respond promptly to patient transportation requests and complete assignments in a courteous, timely, and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate care, concern, and compassion throughout every patient interaction.
  • Greet patients warmly and provide reassurance during transportation.
  • Assist patients with transfers and positioning while maintaining safety, comfort, and dignity.
  • Deliver patients safely to their designated destination and communicate appropriately with receiving staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and protect private health information at all times.
  • Follow proper body mechanics and patient-handling techniques.
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including properly cleaning transportation equipment between patients.
  • Follow all applicable hospital and Radiology Department safety procedures.
  • Assist technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members as needed.
  • Keep transportation equipment and supplies clean, organized, and readily available.
  • Complete daily assignment sheets and ensure assigned duties are completed.
  • Return equipment and supplies to their designated locations when not in use.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful attitude with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
