About the Education Collaborative 

The Education Collaborative spearheads a model of collective engagement that promises to significantly reshape higher education outcomes for students. This transformative scale initiative adopts a network approach that fosters trust and collective commitments among higher education leaders and stakeholders to generate sustainable results within the systems they govern and influence. By 2030, The Education Collaborative aims to build a 140-member network that serves at least one million students, educating ethical, entrepreneurial leaders capable of creating jobs, advancing industries, and driving economic growth across Africa. Our focal areas reflect the pressing developmental needs and trends in higher education in Africa. Currently covering trending needs in entrepreneurship and employability development, ethics and leadership, and faculty development and research.

Location: Ashesi University, Berekuso, Ghana

 

Role Summary

The Program Officer will support the coordination and execution of The Education Collaborative’s programs and broader engagement initiatives, including initiatives covering Entrepreneurship, Careers and Employability, Ethics and Leadership, Faculty Development and Student Services. This role will work across multiple program areas and requires an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks, engage with stakeholders, and drive initiatives forward.


Key Responsibilities

1. Program Coordination and Execution

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of programs across The Education Collaborative’s work, including workshops, convenings, communities of practice, and institutional engagement initiatives.
  • Manage program administration, including maintaining the programs calendar, program catalogue, coordinating with other units within the team to drive programs forward and ensure activities run smoothly and on schedule.
  • Support the facilitation and ongoing administration of communities of practice, including scheduling, participant communication, and resource sharing.
  • Engage with speakers, facilitators, and institutional partners to ensure seamless coordination of events.
  • Manage logistics, communication, and follow-ups for engagement activities.
  • Contribute to the development of program materials, toolkits, reports, publications, and knowledge briefs.


2. Administration of Education Collaborative’s Learning Hub

  • Support the administration and maintenance of the Education Collaborative’s Learning Hub, ensuring it remains up-to-date and accessible.
  • Manage online learning courses, including facilitating smooth course operations, supporting participants and facilitators, moderating discussion boards, and maintaining course documentation.

  • Curate and organize resources in the library of learning materials.
  • Produce quarterly reports on Learning Hub activity and engagement


3. Event Coordination & Logistics

  • Support the organization of virtual and in-person workshops and convenings, working closely with the broader program team to execute these seamlessly.


4. Provide general program support across focal areas as directed, including providing coverage and continuity when team members are away or transitioning.

 

Relevant Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Project Management, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in program or project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or a related role — ideally in a higher education, development, or multi-stakeholder context.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage confidently with diverse institutional partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools; comfortable with virtual collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and online course administration is an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to work across multiple program areas and build cross-functional knowledge
