OtherConstruction Project Administrator

Atlas Excavating is hiring a Construction Project Administrator to support active projects from startup through closeout. This is a strong fit for someone who has worked in construction administration, project coordination, billing support, job cost support, AP, or a similar project-based office role and likes keeping fast-moving work organized, accurate, and on track.

This is not traditional corporate accounting. It is a hands-on role that works closely with Project Managers and operations staff to help keep project documentation, purchasing, invoicing, billing support, and closeout moving efficiently.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will help keep projects moving by supporting the administrative and financial workflow behind the field work. Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and maintain project records from award through closeout
  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project documentation and administrative needs
  • Create and track purchase orders, invoices, and other cost-related paperwork
  • Process and organize project-related billing support and backup documentation
  • Help maintain accurate job records, cost tracking, and contract documentation
  • Support change order, pay application, and closeout paperwork as needed

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

The people who do well in this position are organized, detail-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. They can manage multiple priorities, follow through consistently, and keep information clean and accurate without needing constant oversight.

You will likely be a strong fit if you:

  • Take pride in staying organized and catching details others miss
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both office and operations teams
  • Can multitask between priorities
  • Like supporting real projects with visible deadlines
  • Are dependable, proactive, and comfortable following work through to completion

Preferred Background

We are open to candidates from a few related backgrounds, especially those with experience in:

  • Construction project administration
  • Project coordination
  • Billing or invoicing support
  • AP/job cost support
  • Contractor, subcontractor, or project-based office environments

Helpful qualifications include:

  • Experience in construction, excavation, civil, sitework, utilities, or similar industries
  • Strong administrative and document management skills
  • Comfort working with invoices, purchase orders, cost backup, and project files
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with construction or ERP systems is a plus
