The Developer of Helmets & Headgear is an integral member of the R&D team by participating in all phases of product development and production processes; responsible for developing new technology and evolving our product lineup for Cascade and Maverik Lacrosse brands. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Product Development – Lacrosse.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design and development of lacrosse helmet and headgear projects from ideation through commercialization.
  • Responsible for communication of project status to internal stakeholders including brand, quality, sourcing, and production teams.
  • Leads lab and field-testing initiatives to validate product performance and ensure products meet applicable certification standards.
  • Maintains factory relationships throughout the product development process, from concept to production.
  • Ensures best-in-class QC for all products and oversees compliance with relevant safety standards and certifications.
  • Coordinates with all departments necessary for product certification submission to governing bodies.
  • Develops and executes creative product line strategies within budget and on time.
  • Tracks market and consumer trends to inform and improve product performance.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to support sourcing, manufacturing process development, and QC guideline implementation.
  • May travel 10–15% of the time domestically and internationally to factories, vendors, and testing sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, and 3+ years of experience in product development or a related field.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with ability to meet deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
  • Ability to work multiple projects, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, such as additive manufacturing, is a plus.
  • Experience and interest in the game of lacrosse is a plus.
