Residential Counselor – weekends overnight shift

We have an opening for an individual to work in our Young Adult Shelter Staff program. Residential Counselors are responsible for working closely with young adult (ages 18-24) clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which includes enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma-informed and client centered approach.

• →Assist with screening, intake activities and orientation of new clients into the shelter program
• →Provide guidance and information to clients regarding the daily activity schedule, house rules, and policies
• →Ability to adhere to and enforce program rules policies and procedures
• →Oversee security and safety
• →Complete housekeeping duties
• →Ensure daily chores are completed
• →Provide emergency crisis management to individuals
• →Uphold the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, Compassion

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Excellent crisis management skills
• Proficient computer skills in basic computer software and data collection
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable transportation

• 1 year of previous experience working with individuals in need of social services (preferably low-income individuals)
• Young Adult population experience
• Experience in youth programming
• Experience working with vulnerable populations
• Demonstrated experience supporting underrepresented communities
• Bilingual skills
