Project Officer

• Help shape and deliver programs that make a tangible difference to the conservation of NSW's unique biodiversity and threatened species. 
• 3 x Temporary until 30 June 2029 full-time (35 hours per week) opportunities with the possibility for ongoing or further extension, dependent on future funding. 
• Parramatta Office location, hybrid working supported 
• Environment Officer Class 7 
• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 + super 

Our Ecosystems and Threatened Species team is currently seeking to appoint three Project Officers (Environmental Officer Grade 7) 

Play a key role in delivering programs and initiatives that support threatened species conservation and ecosystem outcomes across NSW. Working within the Program Management, Partnerships and Strategy team, you will contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of projects aligned with state and organisational priorities. 

In this role, you will manage and coordinate a range of project activities, undertake research and analysis, prepare reports and briefings, support procurement and contract management processes, and engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve program outcomes. You will join a collaborative and purpose-driven team that works across multiple disciplines to deliver meaningful environmental outcomes for communities, landscapes and biodiversity across NSW. 

• Experience coordinating and delivering projects, programs or initiatives within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards. 
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate information into practical recommendations and outcomes. 
• Demonstrated experience preparing reports, briefing notes, correspondence and other project documentation. 
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across diverse teams. 
• Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
• Knowledge of threatened species conservation, ecosystem management and/or relevant NSW conservation frameworks, including the Biodiversity Conservation Program, is highly desirable. 
• Degree qualifications in science, environmental management, natural resource management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience. 
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders, influence outcomes and communicate technical information clearly. 

• A degree in science or in a relevant natural resource discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
