Imagine this. You are helping shape Destinus' growth in one of Europe's most important defense markets. As part of Business Development Spain, you will identify new opportunities, build strong relationships across the Spanish defense ecosystem, and turn complex customer needs into real business opportunities.

This is a highly commercial and relationship-driven role for someone who understands how business gets done in the Spanish defense sector. You will work closely with government stakeholders, defense organizations, industry partners, and internal teams to strengthen our position in Spain and build a solid pipeline of strategic opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • →Drive business development activities across the Spanish defense market, identifying and developing opportunities aligned with Destinus' technologies and strategic priorities
  • →Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Spanish Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, government organizations, defense industry, and strategic partners
  • →Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements, operational needs, procurement processes, and upcoming defense programs in Spain
  • →Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities, taking ownership from early market engagement through qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and contract award
  • →Position Destinus and its solutions effectively with customers, partners, and decision makers, communicating complex technologies in a clear and commercially compelling way
  • →Monitor Spanish defense priorities, budgets, procurement plans, competitor activity, and market developments to identify opportunities early
  • →Coordinate closely with engineering, product, program, legal, finance, and leadership teams to develop competitive proposals and commercial strategies
  • →Support tenders, RFIs, RFPs, demonstrations, customer meetings, industry events, and other activities throughout the business development cycle
  • →Identify potential local partners and develop strategic relationships that strengthen Destinus' position and capabilities in Spain
  • →Maintain accurate opportunity forecasts and provide clear visibility on pipeline development, customer engagement, risks, and next steps
  • →Represent Destinus at relevant defense exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings, and industry events in Spain and internationally

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or a related commercial role, ideally within defense, aerospace, security, or another highly technical industry
  • Strong understanding of the Spanish defense ecosystem, including relevant institutions, stakeholders, procurement processes, and industry dynamics
  • Existing relationships within the Spanish defense sector are highly valued
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and move complex opportunities through long sales cycles
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to understand both customer requirements and technical products
  • Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders, customers, government representatives, and industry partners
  • Experience contributing to tenders, proposals, commercial negotiations, or government procurement processes
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across technical and commercial teams in an international environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English
  • Availability to travel regularly within Spain and internationally when required

You know how to build credibility with customers and understand that strong business development is about relationships, timing, persistence, and understanding what the customer actually needs. You take ownership, open doors, connect the right people, and keep opportunities moving. You are equally comfortable discussing strategy with senior stakeholders and working closely with technical teams to turn ambitious ideas into real business.
