Enable New Zealand is a Crown-owned entity on a mission; to support disabled people and their whānau to live everyday lives in their communities. We do this by effectively managing access to equipment, modifications and information services for disabled people and their whānau on behalf of Disability Support Services (DSS) – Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).
With our head office centrally located in Palmerston North, we deliver services to thousands of New Zealanders each year as Aotearoa's largest disability equipment provider.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
We are looking for a Wheelchair Technician to assist with the provision of efficient and effective equipment repair and refurbishments. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for an opportunity to utilise their experience in the repair, refurbish and maintenance of both and manual and powered wheelchairs and equipment.
Ngā mahi haepapa | Role responsibilities
- Undertaking repair and maintenance of issued equipment
- Assess wheelchairs and identify problems and solutions available
- Fitting upholstery, components and accessories
- Assist at wheelchair and seating outreach days
- Contribute to the setting of goals and objectives relevant for the ENZ wheelchair service in consultation with the Warehouse & Logistics leadership team
- Meet and exceed expected turnaround processing times
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

We are looking for someone with knowledge of modifications and their impact on the function of wheelchair design. You will also be experienced in repairing, refurbishing and maintaining both manual and powered wheelchairs and equipment. Bringing your eye for detail, ability to problem solve and work effectively and collaboratively within teams is a must!
