Heidi is building an AI Care Partner that supports clinicians every step of the way, from documentation to delivery of care.

We exist to double healthcare’s capacity while keeping care deeply human. In 18 months, Heidi has returned more than 18 million hours to clinicians and supported over 73 million patient visits. Today, more than two million patient visits each week are powered by Heidi across 116 countries and over 110 languages.

Founded by clinicians, Heidi brings together clinicians, engineers, designers, scientists, creatives, and mathematicians, working with a shared purpose: to strengthen the human connection at the heart of healthcare.

Backed by nearly $100 million in total funding, Heidi is expanding across ANZ, the USA, UK, Canada, and Europe, partnering with major health systems

We move quickly where it matters and stay grounded in what’s proven, shaping healthcare’s next era. Ready for the challenge?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and proactive Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our expanding South Africa sales team.

As a key member of our commercial organisation, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and qualifying leads, initiating outreach, and scheduling high-value conversations for our Account Executives. Your goal will be to create meaningful connections with hospitals, clinic groups, and healthcare networks - helping clinicians across South Africa experience Heidi firsthand.

This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth startup environment. You’ll become an expert in engaging healthcare stakeholders both virtually and in person, visiting hospital sites and clinics to build relationships, understand clinical workflows, and identify opportunities for impact.

A background in healthcare or a clinical discipline (medicine, nursing, allied health, or similar) is highly valued, as it helps you communicate authentically with clinicians and decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and prospect potential customers (private and public hospitals, clinic groups, and medical practices).

  • Execute outbound campaigns using a mix of calls, emails, social selling, in-person meetings, and product-led signals to qualify leads.

  • Schedule high-quality meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives, ensuring smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.

  • Engage with clinicians directly - including on-site visits to hospitals and clinics - to understand needs and demonstrate Heidi’s value.

  • Maintain accurate records in HubSpot CRM, manage and optimise sales pipelines, and consistently meet targets for qualified leads generated.

  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Customer Success teams to streamline sales strategies and market positioning.

  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs to identify new opportunities.

  • 1-2 years of experience in a sales or business development role, ideally in SaaS, healthtech, or healthcare (preferred but not essential).

  • Clinical background (e.g. medicine, nursing, or allied health) strongly preferred.

  • Proven success in generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing high-volume outreach campaigns.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and articulate Heidi’s value to clinicians and executives alike.

  • Highly organised, disciplined, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.

  • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of accountability.

  • Eager to learn, adaptable, and excited about professional growth opportunities.

  • Languages: English required; Afrikaans, isiXhosa, Zulu, or Sotho fluency is a strong plus given our diverse clinician base.

Attitude is more important than experience - if you are hungry, competitive, and motivated, with a knack for problem solving and relationship-building, we want to hear from you.

Heidi builds for the future of healthcare, not just the next quarter, and our goals are ambitious because the world’s health demands it. We believe in progress built through precision, pace, and ownership.

  • Additional paid day off for your birthday and wellness days

  • A generous personal development budget of $500 per annum

  • Learn from some of the best engineers and creatives, joining a diverse team

  • The rare chance to create a global impact as you immerse yourself in one of Australia’s leading healthtech startups

  • If you have an impact quickly, the opportunity to fast track your startup career!
