Key Responsibilities: Manage the size and capacity of the fleet to meet operational demands efficiently. Decide on the mix of vehicle types (e.g., trucks, trailers) to suit different transportation needs. Plan and optimize delivery and transportation routes to minimize fuel costs, reduce transit times, and improve delivery accuracy. Monitor routes in real-time, adjusting for traffic, weather conditions, and any unforeseen disruptions to ensure timely deliveries. Coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of goods. Manage the dispatch of vehicles and assign drivers to specific routes. Monitor and improve on-time delivery performance, reducing delays and ensuring that customer commitments are met. Monitor and manage fuel consumption and costs, identifying ways to reduce fuel usage through efficient driving and optimized routes. Ensure that transport operations stay within the allocated budget, balancing cost efficiency with high service levels. Ensure that the company complies with all local, national, and international transportation regulations, including driver hours of service, load limits, and vehicle safety standards. Oversee vehicle registration, licensing, and permits, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate. Ensure that drivers follow company policies, safety protocols, and legal requirements. Implement driver training programs to enhance driving skills, improve safety, and reduce accidents. Coordinate with customers to meet delivery requirements, provide updates on delivery status, and address any transportation-related issues or delays. Handle customer complaints related to transportation delays, lost or damaged goods, and work with other departments to resolve these issues. Manage loconav tracking systems to monitor vehicles in real-time, ensuring that delivery schedules are adhered to. Develop plans for handling transportation disruptions such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic jams, or accidents, minimizing impact on operations. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, vehicle utilization rates, and fuel consumption. Use these metrics to make data-driven decisions and improve transport efficiency. Provide regular reports on transport operations to senior management, highlighting any issues and proposing solutions for continuous improvement. Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certification such as CILT, CPIM, or fleet management certification is an added advantage. Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in transport coordination, fleet management, or logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of route planning, fuel management, and on-time delivery performance optimization. Experience using vehicle tracking systems (e.g., Loconav, GPS fleet management) and dispatch coordination. Familiarity with transportation regulations (driver hours, load limits, vehicle safety standards) and vehicle documentation (licensing, registration, permits). Proven ability to manage driver training programs and enforce safety protocols. Experience handling customer complaints related to delivery delays or damaged goods. Strong analytical skills to track KPIs (delivery times, vehicle utilization, fuel consumption) and generate reports for management. Ability to develop contingency plans for transportation disruptions (breakdowns, traffic, accidents). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
