SalesSales Engineer

KIOSK Information Systems is seeking a Sales Engineer to serve as a key technical partner throughout the sales process. The Sales Engineer works with Sales to help translate customer needs into manufacturable, commercially viable self-service solutions. This role is ideal for someone with experience in hardware product development, manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, electromechanical systems, or contract manufacturing who enjoys working directly with customers and cross-functional teams. The Sales Engineer partners closely with Sales and works across Engineering, Product, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to develop both standard and custom kiosk solutions. This role requires the ability to understand customer requirements, evaluate hardware and manufacturing considerations, identify technical and commercial risks, and help develop a solution that KIOSK can successfully design, source, manufacture, and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales to identify, qualify, and develop new customer opportunities for standard and custom kiosk solutions.
  • Lead technical discoveries with customers to understand business, functional, technical, environmental, and integration requirements.
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), technical requirements, assumptions, and engineering development estimates for custom projects.
  • Develop and validate preliminary cost models, BOM assumptions, NRE estimates, and pricing inputs for standard and custom solutions.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, renderings, CAD models, and other technical documentation to support solution development and cost estimating.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to validate technical feasibility, development requirements, project risks, and estimated engineering effort.
  • Research and evaluate new components and technologies that expand KIOSK's capabilities or address specific customer requirements.
  • Utilize time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or another technical discipline required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, hardware engineering, product development, Sales Engineering, technical sales, applications engineering, or another related technical role.
  • Familiarity with Creo/ProE, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Must be able to learn new component technology, act as a self-starter, and manage many different priorities.

  • Ability to communicate professionally through customer emails, proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, mechanical assemblies, or contract manufacturing.
