Our respected client, a leading European industrial and logistics real estate developer and long-term asset manager, is seeking a Head of Procurement (Construction) to lead strategic sourcing, tender governance, and supplier frameworks across a growing portfolio of projects in Slovakia. Head of Procurement (Construction) SK/2601/HOPC /Bratislava-based/ About Role: Own and scale the construction procurement function, leading category strategy, international and local tenders, and group framework agreements across key construction packages. You will partner closely with Construction leadership, Project Managers, Design, and Legal to standardize specifications, improve cost accuracy, strengthen supplier performance, and ensure procurement supports quality and delivery on site. This is a leadership role with direct responsibility for people, process, and procurement governance. Responsibilities: Lead the Construction Procurement department and manage a team of purchasing managers, ensuring clear priorities, strong execution, and development of internal capabilities. Create and execute commodity and category sourcing strategies, including supplier selection, benchmarking, and long-term procurement planning. Run end-to-end tender processes for standardized construction commodities, including international tenders where applicable, ensuring compliance, transparency, and strong commercial outcomes. Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers and contractors, finalize contracts in coordination with Legal, and manage renewals, renegotiations, and supplier exits. Build and maintain framework agreements to drive consistency, speed, and cost control across multiple projects and locations. Partner with Project Managers and construction teams on local tenders, bid evaluation, and scope alignment, ensuring comparable offers and clean tender documentation. Collaborate with Design and engineering stakeholders to optimize technical solutions and specifications, supporting value engineering without compromising quality. Support the development and roll-out of construction standards, ensuring consistent application across sites and alignment with internal quality requirements. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, manage claims and risk, and drive corrective actions based on site feedback and recurring issues. Maintain and improve procurement data assets, including supplier databases and unit price databases, and provide market insights and reporting on price developments. Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, controls, and systems, including implementation of new tools and improved cross-department information flow. Requirements: Proven senior procurement experience in construction, ideally within real estate development, major contracting, or a multi-site project environment. Strong track record in strategic sourcing, tendering, and building framework agreements for construction-related categories and packages. Solid contract management capability, including negotiation, commercial structuring, and coordination with Legal. Ability to work credibly with technical stakeholders, interpret scopes/specs, and contribute to solution optimization and standardization. Experience leading and developing teams, with the maturity to enforce procurement governance across multiple project stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, including market benchmarking, unit price management, and procurement reporting to support budgeting and cost accuracy. Willingness to travel regularly across Slovakia to support projects and maintain supplier and site alignment. Fluent English is required. Slovak (or Czech) is strongly preferred.
