About the Role

~1 min read

The Business Development Manager will drive new business development in Auckland, securing restaurant partnerships and building the platform's local venue network. Your work will help create the variety and coverage customers need to keep discovering and returning to participating venues.

This is a hands-on B2B field sales role, with most of your week spent visiting venues and meeting owners and operators. You'll manage the full sales cycle, from cold calling and walk-in prospecting through to presenting, negotiating and closing. Understanding each venue's trading patterns and explaining the commercial value of filling unused capacity will be central to your approach.

You'll coordinate with account management to support newly signed venues and keep your focus on generating new business. Expect short sales cycles, clear activity and signing targets, and autonomy over your daily territory planning. Flexibility around hospitality trading hours will be important.

  • →Manage your sales pipeline, CRM records and follow-up activity to deliver against targets.
  • →Coordinate venue handovers and share local insights to improve messaging and sales effectiveness.
  • Confidence & Rapport: You're calm under pressure, charismatic and confident. You build rapport quickly and make a strong first impression with busy venue owners.

  • Drive to Achieve: You're motivated by clear targets, uncapped commission and accelerators that reward overperformance. You enjoy pushing beyond expectations and seeing your effort translate into results.
  • Autonomy & Discipline: You thrive out in the field, structure your own day and take ownership of the full sales cycle. You balance prospecting, follow-up and closing without needing close supervision.
  • Growth Mindset: You're resourceful, adaptable and comfortable in a lean business where processes are still developing. You want to contribute to establishing a growing hospitality technology platform in New Zealand.

You'll have the autonomy to build your territory, with uncapped commission and accelerators that reward performance above target. This is a greenfield opportunity with a compelling value proposition: helping hospitality businesses turn empty tables into additional revenue while building the platform's local presence.

You'll help establish the business in a new market, with access to experienced sales leaders and the opportunity to shape its approach through insights from the field. As the business grows, strong performance could open pathways into senior sales roles, leadership or future market launches, depending on business needs.
