Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation. ## This role in summary Whirlpool is looking for a talented Engineer Analyst with a strong engineering background for the Structures Team. This engineer will be located in our Tech Center in Rio Claro - Brazil, responsible for the development and approval of our components throughout the various phases of projects. A variety of technologies is under our accountability (including but not limited to): plastic molded parts, casting and powder metal technologies, sheet metal, rubber seals and belts, bearings, suspension elements, wash unit components, etc; combined with a highly interactive work with cross-functional teams and suppliers, this position is a must-apply if you are looking for a dynamic and challenging job. ## Your responsibilities will include * Responsible for the technical development of new components from ideation to implementation, performing fine-tuning of concepts & material selection, assessing design for manufacturing and assembly, creating and managing design FMEAs and working with Labs to verify and validate the designs. * Responsible for technical development of cost and quality improvement projects: * Partner with Service, Quality and Manufacturing areas to drive investigations of root cause and propose quality improvements. * Work with suppliers, perform competition benchmarking and propose cost reduction projects. * Manage the strategy and own the roadmap of components, defining short and long term strategy to be deployed. ## Minimum requirements * BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field * 1+ years of experience with R&D and development of mechanical components * Excellent communication sSkills * Project Management Skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel * CAD Skills (Creo Preferred) * Ability to understand simulation reports (FEM, FEA, CFD, CAD) and incorporate recommendations into design * Proficiency in English (reading, listening, writing and speaking) * CREA ## Preferred skills and experiences * Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is a plus; * Prior experience working with R&D in Laundry and Appliances segment is a plus; * GD&T and stack-up Knowledge; * Systems Engineering Knowledge; * PLM (Product Life Cycle Management). ## What we offer * Discount on products through Compra Certa; * Discount on insurance (pet, auto, home, bike, travel, and more) * Access to the Company Recreation Club available for affiliated employees and guests; * Wellhub; * Employee Support Program, with 24-hour assistance from legal, social, financial, social workers, and psychologists; * Daycare assistance or Nursery at the company for female employees; * Benefits such as consigned or social loans, health and dental plans, life insurance, and private pension plans competitive with the market; * Services available on-site: cafeteria, internal bank branch, and lactation room; * Transportation voucher or free parking at the company; * Meals on-site; * Food voucher; * Two weeks of remote work from anywhere; * After 5 years with the company, eligible employees can take four weeks of paid leave; * Extended maternity/paternity leave.
