About the Role
~1 min readAs a Sales Development Representative, you will deploy multi-channel prospecting strategies and partner with Account Executives to build and advance quality opportunities for the Workday sales team. You will connect with potential customers, share Workday's value, and uncover what matters most to each prospect and their organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Deploying multi-channel prospecting strategies across target accounts, including phone, email, social selling, and in-person events
- Partnering with Account Executives to build and advance quality opportunities for Workday field sales
- Contacting potential customers, sharing Workday's value, and uncovering prospects' needs and organizational challenges
- Identifying and qualifying potential buyers to help generate a healthy, growing pipeline
- Nurturing and developing relationships between prospective accounts and the broader Workday team
- Responding to and qualifying marketing qualified leads in a timely, effective manner
- Staying organized while managing multiple prospecting activities and accounts at the same time
Basic Qualifications
Sales Development Representative (S2):
- 1+ years of professional or industry-related experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 2+ years of professional or industry-related experience where a Bachelor’s degree is not present.
- Experience in prospecting, inside sales, business development, marketing, direct sales, or consulting.
Senior Sales Development Representative (S3):
- 2+ years of direct software, SaaS, or technology sales experience, or equivalent business-to-business prospecting experience
- Experience in prospecting, inside sales, business development, marketing, direct sales, or consulting.
Other Qualifications
- Building Pipeline: Experience identifying potential leads, nurturing them through early-stage engagement, and growing a consistent pipeline through outreach activities
- Relationship Building: Experience establishing genuine connections with prospects and internal teammates through clear communication and trust
- Business Acumen: Experience learning customer environments, market trends, and organizational landscapes to position Workday effectively in prospecting conversations
- Value Propositions: Experience identifying and communicating the unique value of a solution in ways that resonate with different audiences and address customer needs
- Credibility: Experience building confidence with prospects and partners through consistency, honesty, and continued learning
- Familiarity with sales tools such as Salesforce, Clari Groove, and ZoomInfo
- SaaS sales experience
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
