As Account Manager for Japan, you will own the full customer relationship across ai&'s growing base of Japanese enterprise and business accounts. You will manage accounts ranging from fast-moving startups to mid-market companies to large enterprises, ensuring customers are getting value from our platform and finding new opportunities to grow the relationship over time.
This is a solutions-oriented sales role. You understand that selling AI infrastructure, inference services, and compute platforms is not transactional — it requires understanding a customer's business problems and mapping them to what ai& can deliver. You are fluent in the language of AI, comfortable discussing inference, model deployment, and PaaS compute in a business context, and capable of building trusted relationships with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
You will work closely with the Field Development Engineer and customer success teams to ensure customers are well supported from first sale through expansion. Japan is a priority market for ai& and this role carries significant commercial responsibility.

Revenue Growth & Expansion Identify and develop expansion opportunities within existing accounts. Understand how customers are using the platform and where additional value can be unlocked through broader deployment of AI, inference, or compute services.

New Business Development Work alongside the broader go-to-market team to develop and close new business in Japan. Build pipeline through outbound activity, referrals, and partnerships.

Solutions Selling Position ai& products — including our AI inference platform, custom model services, and PaaS compute offering — as solutions to real customer business problems. Tailor messaging and proposals to the specific needs of each account.

Customer Relationships Build trusted, long-term relationships with key stakeholders at customer accounts. Operate confidently across technical teams, business units, and executive stakeholders.

Market Feedback Be the voice of the Japanese market back into ai&. Surface customer needs, competitive intelligence, and market dynamics that should shape our product and go-to-market strategy.
Sales Experience in Japan Proven experience in B2B sales or account management in Japan. You understand the business culture, the buying process, and how to build relationships in the Japanese market.
AI or Infrastructure Sales Background Experience selling AI, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, PaaS, or developer tools is a strong signal. Familiarity with concepts like AI inference, model deployment, Heroku-style PaaS, or compute platforms will help you hit the ground running.
Solutions Selling Ability You do not sell features. You understand customer problems and position products as solutions. You are comfortable navigating complex sales cycles across multiple stakeholders.
Bilingual Fluency Professional fluency in Japanese and English is required. You operate seamlessly across our Japanese customers and global internal teams.
Commercial Instinct You have strong business judgment, know how to prioritize accounts, and understand how to maximize value for both the customer and ai&.
