We are seeking an independent board director with deep experience in the modern mobile gaming industry, particularly in areas such as data-driven game development, performance marketing, user acquisition, and monetization.

This individual should bring operator-level experience from high-performance gaming companies built around rapid experimentation, strong data science, and scalable useracquisition.

This is a non-executive board position, not an operating role.

The company operates several businesses, including:

• advertising infrastructure;
• machine-learning driven demand-side platform (DSP);
• supply-side platform (SSP);
• mobile game publishing and development.

Mobile gaming represents a significant part of the company’s business, contributing approximately 30% of revenue.

Appodeal’s gaming business is closely connected to its performance advertising infrastructure, relying heavily on user acquisition, monetization optimization, and data science.

Strategic Focus of the Role

The mission of this role is to strengthen the board’s understanding of modern mobile gaming business models, particularly companies that scale through:

• performance marketing;
• strong data science and analytics;
• rapid product experimentation;
• scalable monetization systems.

The director will contribute a perspective on:

• game portfolio strategy;
• scaling successful games through performance marketing;
• studio structure and incentives;
• monetization models (ads, IAP, hybrid);
• user acquisition economics and growth systems;
• emerging trends in mobile gaming.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have built or scaled modern performance-driven gaming businesses.

Board members are expected to:

• →Participate in quarterly board meetings;
• →Provide independent strategic advice to the CEO and leadership team;
• →Contribute to discussions around gaming product strategy and market trends;
• →Help evaluate game portfolio decisions and investments;
• →Provide perspective on studio scaling and growth strategies;
• →Share relevant industry relationships and insight;
• →Board members are not involved in day-to-day operations.

Ideal Background
We are looking for a senior operator from the modern mobile gaming ecosystem, particularly companies that excel in performance marketing, data-driven product development, and rapid experimentation.

We are looking for individuals who bring:

• deep mobile gaming expertise;
• strong industry credibility;
• a well-developed network in the gaming ecosystem;
• high strategic judgment;
• an independent mindset;
• willingness to challenge assumptions constructively.

• Estimated commitment: approximately four weeks per year.
  This includes preparation and participation in board meetings as well as occasional strategic discussions with the leadership team.
