As Director, Sales at ASM, you will own the overall commercial strategy and long‑term growth of a global key account, ensuring tight alignment between ASM’s technology roadmap and the customer’s business and technology direction. You will act as a trusted executive partner to the customer, translating strategic insight into sustainable revenue growth, organizational alignment, and flawless global execution.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Own and lead the global Samsung account strategy across all business topics, products, and services, covering Korea, the US, and China, with full accountability for revenue growth and long‑term partnership outcomes.
- →Define and execute long‑term share growth strategies across all ASM product segments at SEC.
- →Drive early engagement and executive alignment for new products, technologies, and next‑generation innovations.
- →Anticipate customer technology and business direction, identify emerging needs, and translate them into strategic opportunities and multi‑year growth plans.
- →Build and manage a strategic opportunity and application pipeline in close alignment with Sales, KAT, Process, and Development teams.
- →Sponsor and govern JDP engagements for new products and new application introductions.
- →Ensure consistent penetration of new applications, with clear targets and accountability across regions.
- →Lead executive‑level communication and presentations for both internal leadership and senior customer stakeholders
- →Serve as the primary executive interface to customer R&D, fab operations, procurement, and senior management.
- →Build, develop, and lead a high‑performing commercial organization in Korea, fostering strong collaboration across regions.
- →Identify and shape regional and global growth opportunities, translating them into actionable business strategies.
- →Coordinate complex, multi‑regional sales and technical efforts to ensure aligned execution.
- →Establish and maintain long‑term partnership programs with SEC R&D centers, fabs, and procurement organizations to drive sustainable revenue and strategic positioning.
- 18+ years of experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry, with deep exposure to Samsung Semiconductor accounts (Sales, Marketing, or Business Leadership).
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Strong technical foundation with deep knowledge of FEOL deposition applications and thin‑film deposition systems.
- Proven track record of owning and growing large, complex global accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to set and drive account strategy within a global matrix organization.
- Extensive professional network with senior and executive‑level stakeholders at Samsung Semiconductor.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology, customer needs, and commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across R&D, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
- Continuous curiosity and insight into semiconductor technology trends and device manufacturing evolution.
- Fluency in English and Korean.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted executive advisor to C‑level and senior customer leadership.
- Strong strategic mindset with a proven record of long‑term account growth and value creation, not just short‑term wins.
- Experience leading technology introductions, co‑development programs, and complex customer ecosystems.
- Ability to influence and align cross‑regional, cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
- Natural leader who can build, inspire, and scale high‑performing commercial organizations.
