This is a part-time seasonal position at the RBC Amphitheater in Toronto, Ontario. Employment will last until mid to late October and the hours will vary weekly. Shifts are usually on evenings throughout the week, with a few full-day events scheduled.
Listed are some of the key responsibilities and duties required of a Concession Cook:
- All Cooks are responsible for the preparation, cooking, and cleaning of all concessions, grill carts, and condiment stations in the venue.
- Every stand has a different menu, Cooks are expected to know how to prepare, cook, and maintain each location using safe food handling practices. Typically, the menu consists of standard concession items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, pretzels, chicken fingers, fries, etc.
- Cooks will report to their Cook Lead/Cook Supervisor to direct them. They will let the Cooks know how much food to prep, also when the intermissions are, and important event times.
- Cooks will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times and adhering to all the health and safety regulations is mandatory. For example, keeping hot food hot and cold foods cold, cooking and heating to the appropriate temperatures, personal hygiene, etc.
- Assist with setting up and closing of the stand.
- Previous culinary experience is an asset, however not required.
- Food Handlers Certificate an asset.
- Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends when needed.
pay rate: $18.50 per hour
