The Vice President of Clinical Outcomes is a strategic executive leader responsible for defining, measuring, and continuously improving clinical outcomes across the company’s programs and client partnerships. This role establishes and executes a comprehensive outcomes framework that ensures the quality, consistency, and success of healthcare professionals throughout their assignment lifecycle.

 

This role provides enterprise leadership over pre‑arrival assessments and education, onboarding and orientation, training and competency validation, and ongoing clinical support for healthcare professionals and clients during the contract cycle. They ensure that all clinical readiness and support programs are aligned with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Responsibilities include the oversight of analytics, patient‑reported outcomes, clinical improvement initiatives, and support programs designed to elevate healthcare professional performance, patient safety, and client satisfaction.

 

This leader continuously evaluates and enhances departmental processes to drive consistency, performance, and achievement of key performance indicators. Partnering cross‑functionally, they ensure operational alignment, regulatory compliance, and measurable impact on quality, safety, and experience outcomes across the organization.

  • Define and lead an enterprise-wide clinical assessment, education, and outcomes strategy aligned with organizational goals, regulatory expectations, and quality priorities.
  • Develop and execute a multi‑year roadmap that connects learning pathways to measurable improvements in clinical quality, safety, and outcomes performance.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for major initiatives related to clinical competency, standardization of practice, workforce readiness, and outcomes improvement.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise competency frameworks and role‑based curricula grounded in evidence‑based practice, clinical standards, and patient safety requirements.
  • Ensure education programming incorporates skills validation, proficiency assessment, and reinforcement mechanisms to drive behavior change and sustained performance improvement.
  • Design and scale multimodal education solutions, including simulation, precepting, digital learning, bedside coaching, microlearning, and performance support tools.

 

  • Lead standardization of clinical practice through pathways, checklists, documentation supports, and decision aids in partnership with clinical and operational leaders.
  • Ensure education is embedded within clinical workflows and supported by practical tools such as EHR prompts, job aids, and structured coaching routines.

 

  • Measure and demonstrate improvement in post‑training clinical performance outcomes, including:
    • Reduction in preventable harm and patient safety events
    • Reduction in “at‑risk” healthcare professionals
    • Improved adherence to performance‑based development plans
    • Improved patient outcomes and patient‑reported measures, as applicable
  • Partner with Risk and Legal teams to translate identified performance gaps into targeted education and practice interventions.
  • Lead root‑cause‑informed education and improvement responses following sentinel events, audits, trends, or performance declines.

 

  • Lead outcomes‑focused improvement initiatives in collaboration with Clinical Education, Clinical Operations, and Client Success teams.
  • Evaluate performance outcomes for internationally educated healthcare professionals and continuously refine orientation, onboarding, and transition‑to‑practice programs.
  • Advise clients on outcomes strategy, benchmarking, target setting, and workflows.
  • Represent Avant’s clinical outcomes value proposition in sales cycles, renewals, QBRs, and executive‑level presentations.
  • Align client measures and benchmarks with relevant quality and performance frameworks, as applicable.
  • Ensure all outcomes measurement policies, reporting methodologies, workflows, and analytics comply with The Joint Commission, The Alliance for Ethical Recruitment, HIPAA, and internal organizational standards.
  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure the privacy, security, and integrity of clinical outcomes data.
  • Oversee the development and execution of nursing education and clinical support strategies, including the Pre-Arrival Clinical Education and Clinical Transitions Program.
  • Monitor healthcare professional performance, identify emerging risk areas, and implement targeted performance management and coaching interventions.
  • Provide guidance to Clinical Managers in client communication, oversight of healthcare professional orientation, and resolution of clinical and performance issues.
  • Build, lead, and scale a high‑performing Clinical Operations organization.
  • Recruit, develop, and performance‑manage leaders and specialists; establish clear career pathways and succession plans.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

 

  • Other duties as assigned

 

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Business, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree (MSN, MHA, MPH, MBA or similar) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical or healthcare quality experience, including 5+ years leading outcomes, quality, or performance improvement teams.
  • Experience with CMS VBP programs, Joint Commission ORYX/eCQM measures, and payer quality programs.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and implementing PROMs programs (ICHOM, PROMIS, CMS PROPMs).
  • Experience developing measurement specifications, data dictionaries, and EHR build requirements (e.g., Epic).
  • Proven operational leadership experience within a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, resolving complex issues, and influencing outcomes across stakeholders.

 

  • Technical Skills: Expert ability to perform technical skills required for job role. This may include the use of specific technology, knowledge of job-specific tasks and concepts, etc. Intermediate ability to supervise project workflows for the team. Expert ability to handle routine tasks and non-routine tasks; and handle tasks with high level of complexity with some guidance.
  • Communicates Effectively: Advanced ability to convey overall organizational vision and strategy to ensure that teams not only complete the task at hand, but in a way that is quick, efficient, and thorough. Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida
