About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking an Applications Engineer to provide technical engineering support across our Mobile Plant product portfolio while working closely with customers, engineering, and sales teams to deliver practical and innovative solutions.
This role is responsible for understanding customer challenges, collecting technical and operational data from site, and supporting the design and development of technically sound and cost-effective products. Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, the Applications Engineer will play a key role in supporting product development, concept design, trials, technical problem solving, and ongoing customer support activities.
This position offers a strong combination of engineering, customer engagement, technical support, and site-based project work within a collaborative mining and heavy industry environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Provide high-level technical support to customers, sales teams, and operational stakeholders
- Conduct site visits to collect operational data, perform inspections, and support product performance reviews
- Assist with troubleshooting product issues and support product failure investigations
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and product case studies
- Support the development of new and improved products through customer data collection and reverse engineering activities including 3D scanning and site measurements
- Generate concept CAD models and engineering drawings to support project requirements
- Assist with product specifications, bill of materials, technical documentation, and maintenance manuals
- Support testing activities, product validation, and regional product trials
- Review customer specifications and communicate technical requirements to Senior Design Engineers
- Support design reviews, interface checks, and safety-in-design requirements
- Assist with project execution activities and ensure engineering tasks are completed to schedule
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation opportunities identified through customer feedback and market trends
- Monitor customer activity, product performance, and market trends
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality systems
- Support the release and control of technical documentation and intellectual property
- Assist with implementation of new or updated product designs
Requirements
~1 min read- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Foundry Industrial Technology, or equivalent industry experience
- CAD qualifications or exposure are highly regarded
- Experience within mining, heavy manufacturing, foundry, or industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, foundry operations, and industrial production environments
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and engineering standards
- Experience supporting technical problem solving, product development, or site-based engineering activities is desirable
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability
- Customer-focused approach with strong technical problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
