Job Opportunity: Cook – CPJ Ltd Deli


Location: Orange Grove
Reports to: Senior Deli Supervisor


As a Cook your primary responsibility is to prepare meals by following recipes and standards, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation. You will collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations, maintain cleanliness, and uphold food safety protocols. Additionally, you may contribute to menu planning and assist in inventory management.


Key Responsibilities:


Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes, applying proper cooking techniques:

  • This involves following specified recipes and using appropriate cooking methods to ensure that food is prepared correctly and consistently.

 

Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked to perfection:

  • This duty entails keeping a close eye on cooking processes to prevent overcooking or undercooking, ensuring that dishes are cooked to the desired level of doneness.

 

Season and garnish dishes to enhance flavor and appearance:

  • This involves adding seasonings and garnishes to dishes to improve their taste and visual appeal, contributing to an enjoyable dining experience for customers.

 

Collaborate with management and kitchen staff to develop new menu items:

  • This responsibility involves working with the management team and other kitchen staff members to create innovative and appealing menu offerings that meet the needs and preferences of customers.

 

Assist in planning daily menus and ensuring sufficient ingredient quantities:

  • This involves helping to create daily menus and ensuring that the necessary ingredients are available in appropriate quantities to fulfill menu orders throughout the day.

 

Provide feedback on existing recipes to improve customer satisfaction:

  • This task involves offering constructive feedback on current recipes, suggesting adjustments or improvements to enhance the quality of dishes and increase customer satisfaction.

 

Maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines in the kitchen:

  • This involves keeping the kitchen area clean and organized at all times and following strict safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of food preparation.

 

Support and train junior kitchen staff, sharing culinary techniques as needed:

  • This responsibility entails assisting and mentoring less experienced kitchen staff members, sharing knowledge and skills to help them improve their culinary abilities and contribute effectively to the team.


Requirements:


  • At least three (3) CXC passes including Math and English.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or deli department.
  • Certificates in related field.
  • Medical Fitness & Health Card.
