Town and Country Resort is looking for a Director of Sales to lead the charge in driving revenue, developing strategic accounts, winning group business, and keeping our competitors wondering how we keep getting the good stuff.
This is not a “sit in an office and wait for the phone to ring” kind of job. We need a relationship-builder, deal-maker, coach, strategist, and professional opportunity-spotter who knows that a great sales team does not just sell rooms—it sells experiences, meetings, memories, and reasons to come back.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Lead the Sales team in achieving and exceeding rooms, group, catering, and overall revenue goals.
- →Develop and execute a sales strategy that keeps the resort competitive, relevant, and busy.
- →Build and maintain relationships with key corporate, association, SMERF, leisure, and group accounts.
- →Prospect relentlessly—but professionally. We like enthusiasm; we do not need anyone showing up at a client’s house with a room-night contract.
- →Identify new business opportunities and turn them into actual business.
- →Partner closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Convention Services, Catering, Reservations, and Operations to maximize revenue and deliver on the promises made during the sales process.
- →Lead, coach, develop, and occasionally lovingly harass the Sales team into reaching their potential.
- →Analyze pace, production, market trends, account performance, and competitive activity and turn all that data into an actual plan.
- →Participate in client appointments, site inspections, tradeshows, sales trips, networking events, and other activities that involve wearing shoes slightly more uncomfortable than necessary.
- →Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while continuously hunting for the next opportunity.
- →Ensure sales strategies support the resort’s positioning, guest experience, and financial objectives.
- →Collaborate with senior leadership on annual budgets, forecasts, business plans, and revenue strategies.
- →Represent Town and Country Resort as a passionate ambassador for the property and San Diego.
- →Do whatever it takes to make the sales engine hum—within reason, of course. #towncountrySD
