We are seeking a dynamic, articulate, and highly motivated Communications Officer to join our team. This role is central to shaping and amplifying our organization's voice across internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate is a master communicator — fluent in English with exceptional written and verbal skills — who can craft compelling narratives, manage media relationships, and drive strategic communications initiatives that build brand reputation and stakeholder trust.

- Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or MBA with a marketing/communications focus
- Professional certifications such as IABC, PRSA, or CIM membership
- Experience in a corporate, government, NGO, or multilateral organization setting
- Multilingual proficiency — knowledge of Arabic, Urdu, or French is a strong advantage
- Prior experience in crisis communications or issues management
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and Google Analytics for content performance tracking
- Video production, podcast hosting, or broadcast media experience is a plus
Responsibilities

- Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of content including press releases, speeches, executive communications, reports, newsletters, and briefing notes — all in flawless English
- Craft compelling narratives and messaging frameworks for internal and external audiences
- Produce annual reports, corporate brochures, and other institutional publications
- Develop talking points, presentations, and keynote scripts for senior leadership
- Serve as a primary point of contact for media inquiries; build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and broadcasters
- Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and official statements
- Monitor media coverage, prepare media reports, and respond to enquiries in a timely and accurate manner
- Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and interviews with senior spokespeople
- Manage crisis communications — develop response protocols and draft statements under pressure
- Manage and grow the organization's presence across digital platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
- Create engaging, audience-appropriate English-language content for social media, blogs, and the corporate website
- Monitor digital sentiment, track engagement metrics, and produce regular performance reports
- Manage the editorial calendar and ensure consistent, timely publishing of content
- Collaborate with the design team to produce multimedia content including infographics, videos, and e-mailers
- Develop and manage internal communication channels — intranet, staff newsletters, townhall presentations, and email campaigns
- Support leadership in communicating organizational changes, milestones, and announcements effectively
- Foster a culture of transparent communication across departments and hierarchies
- Collaborate with HR on employer branding initiatives and culture-building campaigns
- Plan, coordinate, and execute communications for corporate events, launches, forums, and CSR initiatives
- Liaise with government bodies, NGOs, community partners, and industry associations as required
- Prepare and manage communication budgets for campaigns and events
- Track, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of all communications activities
- Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Mass Communication, Journalism, English Language & Literature, Public Relations, or a related discipline
- 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in a communications, PR, media, or corporate affairs role
- Proven track record of managing media relations and producing high-quality written content in English
- Experience working with senior executives and managing sensitive or confidential communications
- Outstanding English language skills — written and spoken — are the foremost requirement for this position
- Excellent storytelling ability with a flair for translating complex information into clear, engaging content
- Strong media literacy and understanding of the editorial and news landscape
- Proficiency in digital communications, social media management, and content marketing
- Experience with communications tools: Mailchimp, HubSpot, Hootsuite, Canva, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of brand voice, messaging consistency, and audience targeting
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- High degree of discretion, professionalism, and ethical judgment
