As a Business Development Representative, you will drive revenue growth across mid-market and enterprise accounts within the connected transportation and fleet technology space. You’ll manage a portfolio of strategic opportunities, developing consultative sales strategies that generate new Annual Recurring Revenue. The role combines business development, account strategy, market intelligence, relationship management, and complex sales execution. You’ll work closely with revenue operations, partner management, and business segment teams to coordinate opportunities and maintain accurate forecasting. You’ll develop deep expertise in telematics, fleet management, customer needs, and the competitive landscape. With a strong focus on technology and emerging AI capabilities, you’ll use data and modern selling tools to improve efficiency, strengthen engagement, and increase win rates.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of mid-market and enterprise sales opportunities involving fleets ranging from approximately 50 to 10,000 vehicles.
- Develop, evaluate, and execute consultative sales strategies designed to generate new Annual Recurring Revenue across assigned opportunities.
- Document sales strategies, customer engagements, and activities in Salesloft and Salesforce to support accurate revenue forecasting and opportunity qualification.
- Maintain opportunity engagement data and ensure sales activities meet established forecasting and pipeline management standards.
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations, Partner Account Managers, Business Development leadership, and other stakeholders to leverage internal sales systems and best practices.
- Support RFX processes for assigned enterprise opportunities and coordinate relevant internal resources.
- Build and maintain deep knowledge of the telematics and fleet management industry, including evolving customer needs, market trends, and industry challenges.
- Develop subject-matter expertise in segment-specific solutions, sales narratives, and strategies relevant to assigned enterprise opportunities.
- Monitor the competitive landscape, including established industry leaders and emerging startups, and incorporate relevant insights into sales strategies.
- Attend trade shows and participate in conferences when beneficial to developing relationships, increasing brand presence, and supporting strategic opportunities.
- Provide leadership with insights on new business opportunities, competitive developments, market trends, and broader business conditions.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop short- and long-term revenue strategies, plans, and forecasts.
- Leverage emerging AI capabilities and sales technologies to improve prospecting, research, productivity, selling efficiency, and win rates.
Requirements
~2 min read- 5–8 years of experience in sales, business development, customer development, account management, or a related field.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Proven track record of developing expansion sales opportunities and driving revenue growth.
- Experience in the telematics, connected transportation, fleet management, or a closely related technology industry.
- Strong proficiency with Salesloft, Salesforce, and comparable sales and revenue-management platforms.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand market trends, customer challenges, competitive dynamics, and industry pain points.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence delivering presentations and training to varied audiences.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, relationship management, diplomacy, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to understand technical and business requirements and translate them into relevant customer-focused sales strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI capabilities and emerging technologies to enhance sales activities, productivity, and business outcomes.
- Strategic thinking, strong multitasking abilities, and the ability to manage complex opportunities and competing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%, including international travel; a valid passport and ability to travel internationally are required.
- Ability to work remotely with a reliable internet connection supporting at least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
