Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the SVP of Business Development the VP of Sales will serve as a deputy to the SVP and partner closely with Business Development and Bids & Proposals teams. The VP of Sales will lead sales efforts, drive new business growth, and support the development and execution of strategic capture and proposal activities. This role will guide opportunity identification, lead proposal development, support program captures, and build lasting relationships across government, commercial, and international markets. This role will also oversee elements of project operations, including schedule, budget, and status reporting, while ensuring customer needs and Terran Orbital objectives remain aligned.

This role is preferred to be onsite in our Irvine, CA office but we are open to remote flexibility for a stellar candidate

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Bids & Proposals to drive bid/no-bid decisions, conduct gate reviews, manage internal resources, and ensure timely stakeholder inputs.
  • Meet sales targets as defined by the SVP of Business Development.
  • Lead the delivery of compliant, high‑quality proposals within customer-defined timelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial and international customers; develop and execute sales strategies that secure alignment and organizational buy‑
  • Lead strategic campaigns targeting new business across commercial and international markets; act as a trusted representative of Terran Orbital.
  • Shape customer requirements, pursue opportunities, and win business across government, commercial, and international sectors.
  • Promote a culture of business acumen and proactive growth; support capture teams with competitive assessments and win strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer missions, technical needs, and priorities; advocate for customer requirements within Terran Orbital.
  • Create and execute account plans that drive revenue growth, forecast accuracy, and customer success; coordinate with internal experts to advance opportunities and identify new business.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams, align partners, and drive joint account governance to achieve revenue, consumption, and customer-outcome targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • 20+ years of sales experience
  • Experience working with government, commercial, and international space customers
  • Proven track record closing deals over $100 million
  • Strong technical understanding of space customer requirements
  • Strong knowledge of commercial acquisition processes and ability to establish credibility
  • Expertise with FAR, DFAR, EAR, and ITAR
  • Experience operating in a distributed, matrixed environment with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience selling satellite vehicles preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
