Vertiv is hiring a Commodity Specialist in Apodaca, Mx who will be responsible for supporting the organization in meeting its daily responsibilities aligned with its strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally with planning, materials management, procurement, operations, master data management, engineering and quality groups to improve internal processes related to supplier management, supplier evaluation, developing suppliers OTD capability, managing transfer projects among suppliers and supporting insourcing/outsourcing flex programs. 
  • Assist in supply chain performance improvements at supplier level, support technical relationship with suppliers
  • Assist in management and facilitation of supplier performance and business reviews.
  • Supports Category Managers with data collection and analysis in support of strategic sourcing projects and Category Managers.
  • Support dotted line / matrixed Global Indirect Procurement team as it relates to regional execution of global strategies.
  • Owns day-to-day assigned procurement activities as it relates to their assigned categories, including but not limited to:  Supplier approvals, contract administration, and Supplier administration.
  • Lead and supports data analysis for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to support category and/or negotiation strategies.
  • Supports and in some cases leads project management activities for strategic sourcing projects.
  • May be asked to lead basic and moderately complex sourcing events.
  • Builds relationships with business stakeholders that facilitate the realization of strategic and financial value.
  • Help identify process improvements and lead initiatives for change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field or equivalent in business, supply chain or similar field of study (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in procurement, preferably Indirect.
  • E-Sourcing experience, specifically with reverse auctions.
  • Strong analytical skills and expert user at Microsoft Excel.
  • A strong business acumen
  • Ability to work within a matrix management environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
