About You:

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role
- Lead and scale WeLab Bank’s bancassurance sales channel for long-term insurance by designing a high-impact sales model with insurer partners, driving frontline performance, and delivering sustainable, compliant growth
- Own the end-to-end sales strategy and execution for long-term insurance products (e.g. life, critical illness, medical, retirement, and savings), ensuring strong customer engagement, conversion, and retention across both digital and assisted channels
- Generate appointments, analyse customers’ personal financial situation and recommend suitable financial and protection solutions
- Drive seamless integration of insurance solutions into the bank’s broader customer journey, enabling effective cross-sell and upsell through data-driven targeting and customer insights
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team, fostering a strong performance culture with clear accountability, coaching, and capability development to achieve ambitious business targets
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders across Digital, Marketing, Business Intelligence, and Product teams to enhance customer experience, optimize lead generation, and improve sales effectiveness
- Collaborate with insurer partners to co-develop sales initiatives, campaigns, and activation strategies, ensuring alignment on commercial goals and customer outcomes
- Ensure robust governance and compliance by adhering to Insurance Authority (IA) and HKMA requirements, embedding strong sales quality controls, and upholding fair treatment of customers (TCF) principles
- Own sales performance, including forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting, and provide regular insights to senior management on opportunities, risks, and performance improvement actions
What is required and what we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline
- Holder of Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examinations (IIQE Papers 1, 2, 3 or equivalent)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in bancassurance or insurance distribution within banks, financial institutions, or insurers in Hong Kong, with proven experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Strong track record in building and scaling bancassurance sales, particularly in long-term insurance products (protection, savings, retirement)
- Hands-on sales leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, driving frontline performance and delivering measurable results
- Deep understanding of insurance products, customer needs, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to translate insights into effective sales strategies
- Strong commercial acumen with data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and manage multiple stakeholders, including external partners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
