Citi is seeking an experienced Solutions Sales professional to join its Markets team in Amsterdam at the Director level. This is a client-facing revenue-generating role with a specific mandate to deepen Citi's relationships within the Dutch domestic financial institution landscape — primarily pension funds, insurance companies, and asset managers — at a moment of considerable structural change in the Netherlands, driven by the ongoing pension system reform (Wet toekomst pensioenen) and evolving Solvency II dynamics. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to clients, bridging their regulatory and investment challenges with the full breadth of Citi's global markets capabilities. This role offers a genuine opportunity to lead and grow a significant client franchise within a market that is both strategically important and technically complex. Primary Responsibilities * Drive Revenue Growth: Lead the origination and execution of fixed income and cross-asset solutions for a client base comprising Dutch pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, and tier-2 banks, with direct accountability for achieving and exceeding revenue targets within the Dutch market. * Client Relationship Leadership: Own and develop long-term, senior-level relationships with key decision-makers across domestic Dutch financial institutions, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted adviser on markets activity. * Bespoke Solutions Delivery: Engage proactively with clients to identify needs arising from their investment mandates, liability frameworks, and regulatory constraints; collaborate with internal trading, structuring, and research teams to design and deliver customised cross-asset solutions. * Local Market Intelligence: Provide clients with timely, insightful market commentary and actionable trade ideas grounded in a deep understanding of the Dutch financial landscape, including the specifics of the Dutch pension framework transition and Solvency II requirements. * Internal Collaboration & Franchise Building: Work in close partnership with regional and global stakeholders across product lines to ensure a seamless client experience from pitch through to post-trade; proactively identify and develop new business opportunities to expand Citi's footprint within the domestic Dutch client segment. * Product Positioning: Maintain expert-level knowledge across a broad product range — including rates, credit, structured products, and equities — and position these effectively and credibly within the context of the Dutch market. What We Need From You * Relevant Experience: A minimum of 8–10 years in a front-office sales, trading, or structuring role at a financial institution, with extensive, demonstrable experience covering domestic Dutch clients and a strong, verifiable track record of revenue generation and client franchise development within the Netherlands. * Client Network: An established and active network of senior relationships with key decision-makers at Dutch pension funds and insurance companies is considered essential to this role. * Regulatory Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of the Dutch financial regulatory environment — specifically the Dutch pension framework (including the Wtp transition) and Solvency II — is mandatory; candidates must be able to translate regulatory complexity into commercially relevant client dialogue. * Product Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise across fixed income products (rates, credit, structured/securitised products) and the ability to articulate cross-asset solutions in the context of institutional investment mandates. * Education & Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree, MBA, or CFA designation is strongly preferred. * Languages: Full fluency in both Dutch and English is required, with the ability to engage at a senior level with domestic clients in Dutch. \------------------------------------------------------ ## Job Family Group: Institutional Sales \------------------------------------------------------ ## Job Family: Investor Sales \------------------------------------------------------ ## Time Type: Full time \------------------------------------------------------ ## Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: €130,000.00 - €275,000.00 \------------------------------------------------------ ## Most Relevant Skills Please see the requirements listed above. \------------------------------------------------------ ## Other Relevant Skills For complementary skills, please see above and/or contact the recruiter. \------------------------------------------------------ ## Automated Processing and AI We use automated processing, including artificial intelligence, for our legitimate business interests (or our reasonable and appropriate business purposes) to identify and align the candidate's skills and abilities with a specific job opening.
