Our client in the Retail & Supply of Home Appliances industry is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager - Home Appliances to lead sales activities, grow revenue, strengthen customer relationships and expand the company’s market presence in Dar es Salaam and other target markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing the sales team, identifying new business opportunities, strengthening dealer and corporate relationships, monitoring market trends and ensuring achievement of agreed sales and revenue targets.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume and market-growth targets.
- →Lead, supervise and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental sales targets.
- →Drive sales of home appliances across retail, dealer, distributor, corporate and institutional customer segments.
- →Identify and develop new business opportunities and expand the company’s customer base.
- →Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, dealers, distributors and business partners.
- →Develop strategies to increase product penetration and strengthen the company’s market presence.
- →Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where required.
- →Conduct regular market analysis to understand customer demand, competitor activities, pricing and emerging market trends.
- →Work closely with management to develop competitive pricing, promotional and sales strategies.
- →Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and ensure effective follow-up of prospective customers and opportunities.
- →Support negotiations with key customers and assist in closing high-value sales opportunities.
- →Provide sales forecasts and market-demand information to support purchasing and inventory planning.
- →Ensure the sales team maintains accurate customer, quotation, order and sales records.
- →Monitor customer feedback and coordinate with relevant departments to address service or product-related concerns.
- →Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling across the company’s home-appliance portfolio.
- →Coach and develop sales team members to improve product knowledge, customer service and selling capabilities.
- →Prepare weekly, monthly and periodic sales performance reports for management.
- →Ensure sales activities comply with company policies, pricing structures and approved commercial procedures.
- →Perform other sales and business development responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Management, or other related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably within home appliances, electronics, consumer goods, retail or distribution.
- At least 2 years of experience in a sales supervisory or management role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of retail, dealer, distributor and B2B sales channels.
- Proven ability to achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Strong business development, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Good understanding of home appliances or consumer electronics is highly desirable.
- Experience managing and developing sales teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to analyze sales and market information.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with CRM or sales-management systems is an advantage.
