Our client in the Hospitality industry is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager - Hotel to lead hotel sales activities, grow revenue, develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with corporate, travel, institutional and leisure clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies, driving room and hospitality revenue, managing key accounts, identifying new market opportunities and representing the hotel professionally in the market. The role requires strong knowledge of hotel sales, corporate account management, business development and the Dar es Salaam hospitality market.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop and implement hotel sales strategies to achieve revenue, occupancy and business-growth targets.
- →Identify and secure new business from corporate clients, travel agencies, tour operators, government institutions, NGOs and other target market segments.
- →Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, existing clients and hospitality industry partners.
- →Promote hotel rooms, meetings, conferences, events and other available hospitality services to prospective clients.
- →Conduct sales calls, client meetings, hotel presentations, site inspections and property tours.
- →Prepare proposals, quotations and corporate offers and negotiate commercial terms within approved guidelines.
- →Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently follow up leads and potential business opportunities.
- →Manage corporate accounts and identify opportunities to increase repeat business and account value.
- →Monitor competitor activities, market trends, customer preferences and hospitality demand within Dar es Salaam.
- →Work closely with reservations, front office, food and beverage, events and other hotel departments to ensure smooth delivery of client requirements.
- →Support development of corporate rates, promotional packages and seasonal sales initiatives.
- →Monitor sales performance against targets and prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports and revenue updates.
- →Maintain accurate client, account and sales activity information within the hotel’s CRM or sales-management system.
- →Represent the hotel at relevant networking events, trade events, exhibitions and business meetings.
- →Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service throughout the sales and account-management process.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Commerce, or other related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably within hotels, resorts or the broader hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a hotel sales management or senior hospitality sales role is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of corporate sales, hotel room sales, meetings, conferences and events.
- Established corporate, travel-trade or hospitality business networks are an advantage.
- Proven ability to generate new business and achieve revenue and sales targets.
- Strong key-account management and client relationship skills.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and deal-closing abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of hospitality market trends.
- Experience preparing sales proposals, quotations, corporate rates and commercial offers.
- Ability to manage sales pipelines, forecasts and performance reports.
- Familiarity with hotel PMS, CRM or sales-management systems is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
