We are looking for dedicated Sous Chef who assists the Executive Pastry Chef in overseeing all pastry and bakery operations, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and specialty items. This role is responsible for supervising the pastry team, maintaining food quality and safety standards, controlling costs, and supporting menu development while promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist in the creation of world-class pastries, working closely with Executive Pastry Chef and the team to maintain the highest standards of quality and taste.
- →Collaborate with the team to develop new and exciting desserts, incorporating different, styles, textures and flavors.
- →Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment.
- →Supervise and support Pastry Chefs de Partie, Commis Pastry Chefs, and other pastry team members.
- →Conduct on-the-job training and coaching to develop staff skills and performance.
- →Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity.
- →Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef on new dessert concepts, seasonal menus, and special promotions.
- →Participate in recipe testing and product development.
- →Stay informed about current pastry trends and industry innovations.
- →A strong foundation in pastry arts, with a deep passion for learning and growth. Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred.
- →Experience in a high-end pastry kitchen or luxury hospitality environment.
- →Creativity and a keen eye for detail, with a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.
- →Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
