Metrohm USA is hiring a Sales Manager responsible for expanding and overseeing sales of our Titration and Ion Chromatography product lines throughout the Midwest. The Midwest region encompasses Illinois to Kansas and then north to North Dakota and Wisconsin. This role is ideal for experienced sales professionals looking to take the next step into management, as well as current managers seeking a new leadership opportunity. Candidates must reside within the region, with a strong preference for those based in the Chicago area.
The Sales Manager will play a key role in driving profitable growth, developing sales talent, and collaborating across teams to strengthen customer relationships and regional performance.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- āOwn the profitable achievement of sales objectives within your assigned territory.
- āLead, coach, and develop a highāperforming sales team through performance management, field coaching, and engagement!
- āProactively inspect sales activity, including strategic accounts and special market projects
- āCoach sales representatives using SPIN selling concepts and opportunity management best practices
- āRecruit, hire, and develop sales talent in partnership with the Sales Director
- āLead forecasting and pipeline management efforts for the sales team
- āCollaborate closely with Marketing, Product Management, Business Development, and Strategic Accounts to drive results
- āBuild strong internal relationships and function as a connector across departments
- āProvide regular market, competitive, and customer feedback to Product Management
- āEnsure consistent and effective use of CRM tools and sales processes
- āCommunicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- āApply advanced problemāsolving skills to support business growth and customer success
This role supports the Midwest region. Candidates must reside within the Midwest and are preferably based in the Chicago area. Those who are not located in Chicago must travel to the Chicago office once a month. To meet customer, sales, and team needs throughout the region, overnight travel may be required for up to 50% of the time.
- Bachelorās degree in chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 5ā7 years of industryārelated sales experience
- 3+ years of sales team leadership experience preferred, including hiring, coaching, training, and performance management
- Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, set goals, resolve conflict, and achieve financial and operational results
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build constructive, effective working relationships
- Strategic mindset with a handsāon leadership approach
