Vice President of Business Development, Helios HVACR Services
Quick Summary
Vice President, Business Development Reports to: President,
Helios HVACR Services is a national commercial HVACR services platform serving multi-site and national account customers across the United States.
The Helios operating model is different from a traditional branch-based mechanical contractor. Our customers rely on us to deliver consistent service across a national footprint through local field teams. Our technicians work across a broad range of equipment and environments while navigating different customer requirements, service-level agreements, not-to-exceed limits, IVR systems, documentation requirements, and operating protocols.
Executing that model consistently at scale requires a different level of commercial discipline.
Helios has built a strong foundation for its next phase of growth. The opportunity now is to continue expanding our national footprint, increase productive field capacity, strengthen density in priority markets, and win the right customers while maintaining strong margin discipline and an exceptional customer experience.
Helios operates as part of Orion Group, a national network of commercial and industrial service businesses focused on operational excellence, leadership development, and disciplined growth.
The Vice President of Business Development & Growth is the senior commercial growth leader for Helios HVACR Services. This is a hands-on player-coach role responsible for personally creating and closing meaningful HVACR opportunities while building and leading a small, high-performing business development team.
This leader will drive profitable growth by opening new customer relationships, expanding strategic accounts, developing new channels, and ensuring Helios wins the right revenue in the right markets.
This is not a traditional sales management role. Success requires a leader who enjoys being in the market, building executive relationships, creating opportunities before formal RFPs exist, negotiating complex service agreements, and developing a repeatable growth engine.

· Experienced leading a small, high-performing business development team while remaining personally active in selling.
· Commercially disciplined with strong understanding of revenue quality, margin, and field service economics.
· Comfortable operating in a national platform supported by local field execution.
· A low-ego, collaborative leader who partners effectively with Operations, Client Management, and Finance.

· The VP has personally created and closed meaningful new business.
· Business development resources have clear goals, accountability, and operating rhythm.
