Business Development Manager, Italy
Basic Function:
The jobholder will be primarily responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities for all Aritech and Kidde Commercial Products under the umbrella of KGS Fire & Security, developing strategic sales with a highly visible, prestigious customer base. We therefore require candidates with a proven record of accomplishment in a BDM role, selling solutions and products to Specifiers and Consultants.
The selected candidate will be able to report to the highest level of the organization. The success in the role will depend on regular and effective interacting with Sales Managers, Key-Account Managers and local Sales/BD Teams, as well as Marketing and Product Management team.
It is a hybrid or remote role, depending on successful candidate’s location. The preferred location is in the northern or central part of Italy.
Key responsibilities:
Specifier focus:
Vertical Markets:
Develop and specify KGS solutions to defined vertical markets.
Identify new segment and vertical market opportunities, analyzing segment trends.
Specify KGS products at end-user and consultant level.
Be the focal point and key contact with large end-users and consultants.
Participate, when and where relevant, to end-user meetings.
Communicate, inform and support local sales team on a regular basis.
Large Projects:
Identify opportunities and key project stakeholders.
Specify KGS solutions, start presentations and discussions with key stakeholders (end-user, consultants, installers-integrators bidding for project, etc…).
Collaborate, when relevant with other KGS business units.
End-User and Trade Associations:
Participate, when relevant to the existing Vertical Market trade associations.
Specification, Solution Enablers:
As the specification expert and owner in the organization, help design and maintain specification documents on KGS products and specifications to consultants, architects, end-users, … .
Identify new partnership opportunities for existing and future products & solutions, working closely with Marketing.
This scope and key interactions should be seen as very dynamic, due to constant adaptation to and anticipation of market trends.
Qualifications / Key requirements:
Technical or business education – min. Bachelor degree.
Min. of 4 years of experience in a similar (BDM) role, strong business development background.
Previous sales experience that demonstrates exceeding organizational sales expectations.
Experience in fire & security industry will be a strong advantage.
Fluent Italian and min. good English, both in speaking and writing.
Able to translate strategic selling and follow-up skills at the executive level.
Excellent presentation and persuasion skills, great communication skills.
High-level prospecting skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
Great team player: Creates an environment, where people are involved, motivated and have a sense of ownership.
Well-documented record of managing a complex and sophisticated sales cycle that is translated into key account wins.
