The role:

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term growth trajectory. This is a highly relationship-led position with significant scope, operating at the front end of Enable’s expansion, identifying, influencing and securing major development opportunities across Christchurch, Queenstown and beyond.

 

You will establish and deepen trusted, strategic partnerships with developers, councils, surveyors, planners and key industry stakeholders, acting as a credible advisor and conduit for market insight. By bringing the voice of the customer into the business, you will help position us as the partner of choice for connected communities. This is not transactional sales; it is strategic, consultative engagement focused on delivering sustainable, long-term outcomes.

 

With a high degree of autonomy, you will help shape commercial strategy, operate confidently at a senior level, and leverage the strength of a collaborative commercial and delivery team to translate opportunity into tangible results.

  • Own and lead strategic business development across large-scale residential and commercial developments, unlocking expansion into high-growth corridors and future markets
  • Cultivate and influence senior, high-value relationships with developers, councils and key industry stakeholders, positioning the organisation as a partner of choice
  • Anticipate and shape growth opportunities by leveraging deep market insight, customer understanding and commercial acumen early in the development lifecycle
  • Architect compelling, commercially sound propositions and business cases, aligning cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact outcomes
  • Champion the voice of the customer at a strategic level, ensuring customer experience, delivery excellence and commercial performance are seamlessly integrated
  • Operate as a senior commercial leader with autonomy and ownership, consistently driving long-term value and elevating the organisation’s market position

 

A little more about you:

  • A self-driven, team-focused professional who builds trusted senior relationships and collaborates with integrity, resilience, and follow-through
  • Proven senior business development experience with a track record of identifying opportunities and turning them into sustainable, long-term outcomes
  • Experience in property development, infrastructure, construction or telecommunications, with an understanding of how complex projects move from concept to delivery
  • Strong commercial judgement, including the ability to shape business cases, assess value, and balance customer needs with commercial objectives
  • Confident and comfortable presenting to varied audiences, from developers and technical teams through to councils, community groups and governance forums
